The Voyageurs’ Lodge, Batchawana Bay
Enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee with their famous apple fritters overlooking beautiful Batchawana Bay, Lake Superior. Or, walk across the highway to the sandy beach to a picnic table. The café serves fresh sandwiches, salads, daily hot specials and desserts. Open seasonally from early spring to early October.
The Carver Cafe, Pancake Bay
Newly opened at Agawa Crafts and the Canadian Carver, the Cafe brews up hot and cold beverages, including Drinks of the Week. While stopping in for a coffee, check out the retail for home decor items and more. Open seasonally from early spring to early October.
The Copper Bean Café, Bruce Mines
We like their outdoor patio to enjoy our coffee and a tasty sandwich. This is a nice spot to enjoy a cup on a rainy day indoors as the atmosphere is hip and relaxed. This café serves hot and cold coffee on the menu using locally roasted coffee beans. Stop in for lunch for fresh soups, sandwiches and salads, and desserts, made from locally sourced ingredients.

Elliot Lake Blossoms Fresh Fruit Arrangements & Bistro, Elliot Lake
Not just a fresh fruit arrangement! This shop serves your favourite hot and cold brews. A tasty menu includes charcuterie, soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and what should be everyone’s favourite meal of the day: breakfast!
Rumours café, Hearst
You’ll like this one: Rumours serves decadent cupcakes and cookies with a delicious hot and cold coffee menu with seasonal drinks like Pumpkin Spice or Frosty the Snowman Latte. The café also sells coffee products, mugs, and gourmet coffee syrups.
Chapleau Hub, Chapleau
A unique place to get a hot or cold brew is located at St. John’s Anglican Church. It’s the oldest public building in Chapleau and is still a place of worship during the week. The lower level hosts a licensed restaurant. Add a favourite flavour shot, too!

The Black Bear Cafe and Bakery, St. Joseph Island
Located at Kent’s Corners on the island, The Black Bear Cafe and Bakery bakes daily with tasty baked goods and treats. It’s a great spot for a breakfast, too. Stop in for a coffee and a butter tart!
The Well – Coffee Shop and Youth Centre, Blind River
Supporting a local coffee shop can also help support local causes; proceeds from The Well support local youth initiatives in the community. The menu includes lattes, espresso and cappuccino, hot tea drinks, and cold brew options. Add a sandwich or a baked good like cinnamon buns, or a butter croissant.
The Roasted Bean Cafe, Thessalon
Newly opened on Main Street, The Roasted Bean Cafe offers hot and cold coffees and beverages and delicious sandwiches and sandwiches. The cafe’s decor is eclectic with a beautiful mural on one wall, the other adorned with historic farm and lumber equipment, a nod to the community’s history. A great edition to the community!
Sault Ste. Marie’s Coffee Scene

A coffee bar that’s been around for many years serving specialty coffees, hot chocolate, and delicious handmade Godiva chocolate counter. Sweet Greetings Coffee Bars are found in IDAs in the city with a lovely gift shop for home décor. If you’re looking for something special, Sweet Greetings creates beautiful gift baskets.
If you love coffee and butter tarts, this is a must-stop. The Queen’s Tarts has the most extensive list of butter tart flavours in the city, maybe in the region. It could quite possibly be in all of Northern Ontario! Get a latte or a cappuccino then select a tasty tart to go with it. Some favourite tart flavours are whiskey maple bacon, sea salt and dark chocolate.
A local favourite made a comeback to Queen Street. Order a simple cup of coffee or a seasonal drink special like an Eggnog or Pumpkin Pie Latte. Each day features a new soup of the day and tasty lunch options. Add a little side of sweetness with a cupcake, cookie, blueberry scone, or fudgy brownie.
A favourite spot for Saultites! Ernie’s Coffee Shop has been serving up a good cup of coffee and a big slice of coconut cream pie for decades. Try the Spanish Cheesecake. Order a specialty coffee Spanish, Irish or Monte Cristo. The menu rotates using in-season ingredients, locally sourced and unique flavours in this cafe. Stay for lunch or dinner.
This coffee shop in the Cambrian Mall uses whole-bean coffee which is freshly ground every day. Order a variety of espresso drinks from the menu or a flavoured coffee. Grab a sandwich to go or get a tasty baked good on the side. A nice stop after some shopping.
